Can You Walk Your Belly Fat Away?

Belly fat is one of the most frustrating types of fat to get rid of. Amazingly, one of the best ways to get rid of belly fat includes a healthy dose of one of the easiest forms of exercise. Walking is quickly becoming the popular way to trim that belly fat. This is not the typical style of walking, though that certainly can work. This is walking with some extras thrown in. If you are interested in trimming your belly fat through walking, then read on. You will be shocked at the results.

Walking is one of the best forms of exercise on the planet. Why? There are several reasons, but the main reason is because people are far more likely to stick to a routine. Walking is not as intimidating as say jogging, running, climbing, and weight lifting can be. Also, walking can be a ton of fun without wearing your body out with high impact jolts you get from running. How can a simple walking regimen trim belly fat though? It begins with some modifications to your walking regimen.

First, you need to set yourself a regulated schedule. My suggestion is to set it up in blocks of time rather than specific distances. Blocks of time are easier to measure, and are more likely to be met on a weekly basis. If you miss a block of time because you worked late, maybe you can make it up by walking the stairs on your break, or walking around the block.

The next thing you will do is add some extras to the routine. First, get some light hand weights to carry on the walk. Commit to keeping your hands above your waistline for the vast majority of the walk. As you walk, you need to get your heart rate elevated to a degree. This can be accomplished easily by walking at a quick pace. Pumping your arms can accomplish the same, and it will also work other muscles throughout the body. Belly fat gets lost when you burn calories, because it is empty fat. That is, there is no muscle in belly fat.

Adding any type of aerobic action to your walk can literally double the belly fat loss of a walk. For example, add skipping every so often to the routine. If you are not a skipper, then give jumping and hopping a try. Anything that adds action to the walk can be beneficial. Of course, be sure to check with your doctor before beginning any belly fat routine.

Belly fat most certainly can be eliminated through simple walking, but adding these extras can amp up the calorie loss and shed the pounds quicker. Always make sure that you stretch well before you walk, and that you are in good enough health to start any walking routine. If you follow these tips, you will find your belly fat melting away with each walk that you take. Before long, you may even be working on a six pack of abs!
